Have samples you need to test?
We want to ensure that all GPs, healthcare providers and public & private hospitals have access to the testing facilities that they need.
If you have samples that you need to test and can’t find a way to get them processed, let us know and we’ll connect you with a laboratory as soon as possible.
Scientists on Standby is building a database of connected laboratory staff, equipment and bench space so that we can help support the UK healthcare system as we scale-up Coronavirus testing.
To help us battle this pandemic, the life science industry is rallying together to develop, produce and supply more tests (as well as work on new treatments). This will allow the UK to test and protect key workers on the front lines, as well as understand how COVID-19 is spreading throughout the population. This information will be essential to slow and stop the outbreak.
Even though the UK has access to many world-class biomedical scientists, lab space and equipment, there is unlikely to be enough capacity to manage the sudden increase in demand. We want to play any part we can to make sure that this possible gap does not leave hospitals stuck without access to testing facilities (and patient results).
If you are a GP, work in a public or private hospital, or work in some other healthcare setting, then we’d love to hear from you – especially if you have samples you need to test, but have not been able to find support elsewhere.
We’re now partnering with the COVID-19 Volunteer Testing Network to help locate laboratories that are able to provide testing services to support the NHS in the fight against COVID-19. If you’re a GP, work in a public or private hospital, or in some other healthcare setting then visit to register your details.
